THE CROWN HOTEL - Walney Island North Scale, Walney Island Tel: (01229) 475862 Originally constructed during 1865 the 'Crown Inn' was to gain it's first 'full' licence in 1866. The building that stands on the site to this day (Hotel) was re-constructed in 1882. Previous occupants are listed; from the 1871 census as a John 'Inn Keeper' and Eleanor Housby his wife, from the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census Robert and Francis Troughton lived there. When Francis remarried her husband Ernest Walker became inn Keeper. Previous landloards also include Coglan, Eacott, Boardman, Corran...
