SPRINGFIELD CLOSE - Walney Island (aka: Teasdale Back Street) Springfield Close took it's name initially during the late 1970's to aid the confused postmen and women who had to deliver mail to the 'newly' constructed property in between Teasdale Road and Combe View and which can be seen just to the top right hand of the picture above.
The picture below is c1940 and the building that is just evident at the right of the picture on the left is that of the Bankfield Hotel. quite amazing to see fence posts where the terraced houses of Foxfield Road now stand. © 2003 Margaret Wood
